Welcome

You have arrived at audiosite - a storehouse of information for the audio professional or keen amateur. On the pages of this site are facts and opinions that may interest people who are involved in music, audio, and electronics. No fluff, no "coming soon" pages, no nonsense (well, ok there is some nonsense). Enjoy.
On some pages you may need to scroll down a little. Spend some time poking around, or if you're in a hurry use the Search Engine. Oh, one more thing - any software-speak on this site will be about the Apple Macintosh.

Abby when she was very young.
About me: My name is Richard Hallum, and for 24 years I taught Audio Engineering and Music Production at MAINZ (Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand). For 10 years before that I owned and operated a commercial recording studio. My interest in audio and music goes back to the 60s - a time when computers (even electronic calculators) and synthesisers were virtually unheard of, MIDI didn't exist, and dinosaurs roamed the face of the earth. Luckily, by then the guitar had just been invented, as had electricity...we have come a long way. No wonder there is so much to learn!
