The earthquake has provided a new pun for audio engineers in Christchurch.

I don't usually get political on this site, but this is important. 10 years on from 9-11 it seems most people in the West are still ignorant of the intentions of Islam. Moderate Moslems: that's possible, Moderate Islam: no. It is no accident that Osama Bin Ladin chose Sept 11th to attack the twin towers; this was the same day the Ottoman empire was defeated at the Battle of Vienna in 1683. 9-11 heralds in a new era of Jihad. The West needs to wake up to the reality of how totalitarian and oppressive Islam is. For 1400 years it has expanded by force. I came across a forum recently that asked the question 'which (contemporary) musicians have a science degree?' I decided to do a little digging. The most obvious is Dr. Brian May, who put aside his PhD study due to the success of Queen. 30 years later he completed his thesis in 2007. It is in Astrophysics and titled 'A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud'.
The other notable person I found is Dr. Brian Cox, who was keyboard player for a 1990s pop band D:Ream. He has a PhD in particle physics. His thesis title is 'Double Diffraction Dissociation at Large Momentum Transfer'.
There are of course other rock musicians with degrees, but these two brainy Brians must be top of the list.
